Have been busy with quite a few things, work/life related. Being a job hunter myself I have had experience with different companies and I must say that Chicago (or maybe the world in general) is hungry for developers. Big companies are recruiting 'not experienced' people, personally had to say no at 2 different jobs because I didn't have the skills required (they were both Rails). Small companies are more towards 'crazy intelligent' people, I guess it has always been this way.
An interesting thing that I've noticed is that web developers that know Python/Ruby have more chance in finding a quality job, compared to maybe PHP/Perl. Not to talk about designers, they are everywhere, and it's kinda scary for me that I wanted to open a private web-design business.
I'm kind of bored with web stuff, maybe school will give me the initial push into desktop programming. Also since I hate the web I had to take off comments because I was being spammed like crazy.
